Welcome to Australia BBQ

(serving 60)
Our green and gold hand-made sign...
Recently Paul & I decided to help cater for a 'Welcome to Australia' BBQ in Fairfield. We wanted to welcome refugees and people who are new to Australia into our church community and start to build friendships with those who have been through a lot and don't have a lot of support here.
As we started organising, we realised that this idea had been around for awhile, but we were the ones who finally put our hand up to provide the food and set a date, though that's probably the easiest part! It was a bit of fun working out a multicultural yet Aussie menu, though the biggest challenge was catering for an unknown number of people up until the last day or two! Praising God that we had such a good team at church who were able to invite people from different areas, and that many were able to make it. We had a great time and were able to chat and find out a little bit about some of the amazing life journeys that people had been through. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a new ministry opportunity!
The trusty Corolla, leaving home jam-packed!

Praising God for an opportunity to be a part of His kingdom and a chance to serve Him and serve others together in our marriage.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." Matt 25:34-35
