ABC's like me often forget about Chinese New Year, but when mum asks me to come home for 'end-of-year family dinner', i wouldn't miss it for anything! It's a great chance to get some cooking tips from mum, gather around the table and just have an excuse to feast!
Chinese dishes are supposed to have all these awesome fancy names that are puns for good health, success, wealth etc.. wish i understood it a bit better... either way i'm happy fish and noodles are on the menu!
The Menu
Entrees:

| Asian snacks: Melon seeds and egg rolls |

| Fresh oysters |
 |
| Cold dishes: Sesame jellyfish and silken tofu in chilli oil |
Mains:
 |
| Steamed blue cod with ginger and shallots, and vegies |
And of course... best way to finish the night, red (or gold) packet!!
