Colourful Christmas Celebration!

Christmas is one of my favourite times in the year, once it hits December you can't help but wind down and just relax. Holidays, plenty of food and feasting, presents, a time to gather with people you love and just chill out... most of all, there is the reminder of the greatest gift of all, Jesus being born. This year as I was preparing a Sunday school lesson, the powerful truth that Christmas time is a time to remember that God himself entered humanity struck me. Seeing my friend Charissa's adorable newborn Ethan was also really amazing to think that Jesus was once a helpless babe, 100% man and 100% God at the same time. God's gift to us is truly amazing and full of unconditional love.

In keeping with last year, our group had a post-Christmas, pre-new year celebration and i thought we could have summery salads to keep it simple and to help with the over-eating from the previous few days! This was also to match the summer theme inspired by the attractive water dispenser that mum got me! :)
Loving the fresh lemon, lime and mint water!
Menu
Starters
Lily brought boccocini, basil and grape tomato skewers, and a grated beetroot, carrot and feta salad with pepitas!
Mains
Poached lemon chicken salad with tomato medley and boccocini
Mango and salmon salad with fresh herbs (missing the soba noodles though!)
Marinated lamb shoulder with roasted vegetables
(including super cute dutch carrots, sweet potato, potato, onion, leek and garlic)
Served with mint and anchovy sauce
Pimms & Lemonade
Dessert
Pear, mint and lime sorbet in cinnamon filo cups

Then the unravelling of stealing secret santa presents!
Unsure if i like all the sneaky stealings, but was fun in the end :)
Merry Xmas everyone!
