Taste testing experiment: Fig entrees !

So, i have a clear love for this fruit. I think i may have actually let out a small squeal of delight when i saw the box of figs mum got me - talk about easily won over!
So this week since i had 5 in my possession i thought i'd play around a little with the taste buds and try out what would be the best combo. Doing a bit of research, prosciutto and goats cheese seems to be the clear companions, but i had a few leftover tid-bits at home so i thought i'd try out the best combo!
From top left (clockwise): Classic - prosciutto with goats cheese, Twist on classic - Smoked salmon with Danish feta, Italiano - Prosciutto with pecorino, Aussie - Smoked salmon with Brie
To be honest, fig made each combo amazing, giving the strong flavours a sweet fresh splash of taste and soft texture... i thoroughly enjoyed every bite of every quarter of this fig!

Anyhow, i digress, my vote would be:
1. Italiano - surprise surprise! The fig really balanced out these 2 really strong flavours!
2. Classic - it's in all the books for a reason
3. Twist on Classic - smoked salmon actually works well with fig and feta turned out to be a good match
4. Aussie - i think the combo was just a bit too soft altogether

These would be great as hors d'oeuvres!
