Powerful pear porridge

(serves 2, or 1 adult and a few baby breakfasts)
Anneliese has loved pear porridge from the start and has probably had it almost every day since we started giving it to her. I'm not sure when we will stop giving it to her as she's always happy to have it and it's good for her so I guess time will tell. This is a super simple recipe, just thought I'd share it in case there are other little bubs who would love porridge and also need help with their bowel movements, as issues with little ones go!
It's actually pretty yummy, no need for honey or any other sweeteners, I don't mind a bowl myself when we are making it fresh :)

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
1 ripe pear
4 dates
3 prunes
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 to 3.5 cups boiling water
1/4 cup milk

Method
1. Place the oats, chopped pear, dates, prunes, cinnamon and water (enough to cover the oats and fruit) into a saucepan and cook on medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes until soft and oats are hydrated.
2. Add the milk and stir through for another minute. Remove and blend (if making for baby).
3. Serve warm and can top with a bit of fresh pear, if desired.
NB. We keep about 3 boxes for breakfast for the next few days after making it fresh and it seems to keep and microwave back fine.
