Return of the Ninja Noodle Bar!

(serving 100+)
In the absence of finding a more creative name, we decided to have a second episode of the Ninja noodle bar at this year's St Barnabas Christmas Carols event. This year we had the advantage of being in the same abode and having new Global knives as our weapons which meant less running around and faster chopping! However, our shopping trip at Flemington ended up taking 2.5hrs, can't tell if we were slow because we were fatigued from all our other cooking adventures or if i'm just terribly indecisive and easily distracted... nevertheless we made it in the end. As always, it was a fun but full-on day!
Car load of bargains from Flemington, everything bought by the box!
This year we decided to continue with our 2-station theme;
Station #1: Char siu vermicelli stir-fry
I was in charge of the newcomer to the table, one of our Cheng family favourites - BBQ pork (char siu) vermicelli noodles. We decided to roast our own char siu to keep costs down, which was successful and tasty, but time-consuming as we were making 4.5kg!

Paul continued with his infamous chicken and veg hokkien noodle stir-fry, of which apparently a few people were waiting all year for! How do you compete with that? :P
Station #2: Chicken and vegetable hokkien noodle stir-fry
Unfortunately the storm set in just as we were driving towards church at around 4:30pm, part of a very crazy week in Sydney with a week of consecutive storms! We had less than the usual crowd and had to move indoors this year, but nonetheless was a lovely evening with everyone at church and our community neighbours.
It was a blessing and inspiring to see so many people chip in and work together over the day; singing and handing out flyers at Fairfield Markets as well as the star Carols performance on the night, set up/clean up duties, face-painting, and also all the other awesome stores on the night (pizza, sausage sizzle, juice bar, gelato, hand-made donuts and cupcakes)! Was a lovely way to start December and remember the true meaning of Christmas, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: "Behind the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means God with us)."
Matt 1:22-23
